Newtown – Isle of Wight

This is a beautiful, restful sanctuary. We spent Christmas Eve 2008 tucked up in there and it was wonderful! It can be very busy during summer weekends, so we avoid it then, preferring to take our pick of the moorings in the winter months.

Christmas Eve in Newtown

One of the main attractions of Newtown is the history of the place, some of which is revealed at low tide. Another is the abundant bird life. We saw a couple of seals in the summer of 2010, one swimming around Clamerkin Lake where we were moored, the other lazying on the spit east of the entrance. The photo. of the seal in in one of the Posts.
