After Dartmouth this was our second port of call during our 2009 holiday. We got to Braye late afternoon and found just a few mooring buoys vacant. We stayed 2 nights and made good use of the efficient water taxi service and walked across the island past the airstrip to the coast on the other side. Breathtaking views and lovely friendly people. The pizza restaurant in St Annes was second to none. I could return to Alderney every year – its a welcoming and peaceful place.
We returned to Braye on our homeward journey to meet up with Neil, the first owner of our first boat. Although we bought her privately, which is probably a no-no for first timers, Neil was so helpful and trusting that the entire transaction was easy and efficient and we have remained in touch since, despite selling her ourselves.
