A small former British island with lovely beaches and a reputation for haute cuisine, Anguilla has a shallow sheltered bay on the northern coast called Road Bay. This is where you clear in with incredibly friendly officials. It is free to anchor and clear but should you wish to visit the park areas and islands offshore, it becomes more expensive. It was around 35 GBP for a day the last time we visited.
Provisioning and obtaining water isn’t easy but the restaurants along the beach are great fun and we always enjoy visiting Anguilla on our way to and from the British Virgin Islands.
