Final Week in the BVI

Paula and Dennis have just gone back to the airport and we are getting through our emails before we head south on Saturday when the winds die down a little. We had a lovely fortnight with them visiting most of the top spots in the BVI, including Willie T’s again!

We visited a few more bays and islands last week, including the famous ‘Baths’ on Virgin Gorda and Manchioneel Bay on Cooper Island. We also found a bay called Benures Bay which didn’t have any mooring buoys so had a free night at anchor. The water was crystal clear and we didn’t even need to snorkel to see the anchor chain all laid out with the spade well dug into the white sand.

At Cooper Island the resort on the beach is very classy and the food delicious. The staff were also friendly and helpful, something we haven’t always encountered in the BVI.

Paula and Dennis had some fast passages with us between islands with the boat well heeled over at times but the downwind leg back to Trellis Bay was more gentle.

The Full Moon Party is on 8 March and if we are still in Trellis Bay we will definitely attend that event. Our friend Peter from Salila is also here with his new crew Lorrie and Lesley, so we hope to have a few evenings together before we all sail south on our way to Trinidad.
